Today In Being Embarrassed For Someone

On my way to the post office today, I drove behind someone with a “9/11 was an inside job” sticker on his car.

I’m always embarrassed for people who advertise their belief that George W. Bush planned the 9/11 attacks. As someone who bears no love for the Shrub or his administration, I say this to truthers: any conspiracy theory that hinges on the planning skills of George W. Bush deserves to be ignored on that basis alone.  Every scheme Bush has tried to execute, not just during his presidency, but during his adult lifetime, ended up failing miserably and often blowing up in his face. Without a rich and connected dad to bail him out, W. would probably have been dead or in jail by the time he was 30. If Bush had planned 9/11, the buildings would still be standing, the planes would have landed safely, and Bush himself would be in Leavenworth.

Bumper sticker hippy, there are plenty of justified causes for looking back on George W. Bush with contempt and hatred. There’s no reason to invent more, especially in ways that award the Shrub a reputation for competence that he’s done nothing to merit. Of course, I’m sure you’ve heard that before and blown it off, which is why I can do little but feel embarrassed for your folly.
