–Just finished watching Truffaut’s 400 Blows. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and get the blu ray by whatever means necessary. (If you steal it, follow the kid’s example and return it afterwards.) It’s by great lengths the best realist film about adolescence I’ve ever seen. Having also just learned that Truffaut was only 52 when he died, I now not only envy his having created so brilliant so young, but also sudden fear that there may not be much time left for me either.
